Youth Sunday - January 11, 2015

This has become one of my favorite days of the year.  I think, perhaps, it's because we advisors see the absolute trust placed in the Lord by many of the youth.  Listen, if you're not an outgoing person, even shaking hands and handing out bulletins can be a bit stressful.  This is the day we see those who have agreed to speak just place their fears & hesitations & doubts about their own abilities aside, and trust that God will speak through them, and hold them while they share.  And that is what brings each and every one of us advisors (yep, even the big, silent types) to tears!  It's knowing that these youth are the future of our church, and the torchbearers of our faith in Christ!  Oh, it overwhelms our emotions just a bit.  Sometimes, we adults make our own decisions about what we are or aren't qualified to do, and I find myself humbled each year as the youth grasp the fact that it is God, and God alone who qualifies us where He calls us.  Oh, it's just amazing to watch!  Yep, we're so thankful for them!!  :)  :)

I am guessing there are many parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles & friends who sat in the congregation and felt the same way today, if not even more!

Here are some of the moments of the day...

These 2 cuties were singing their little hearts out before the youth took over.  :)
